Global Competitiveness Empowerment Forum supports and implements “Fair Player Club”, the public-private sector platform to promote collective action for anti-corruption in cooperation with GCNK (Global Compact Network Korea), the South Korean Integrity Partner of Siemens Integrity Initiative by Siemens AG, from March 2015.
The Fair Player Club Launching Ceremony & the 1st Joint Public-Private Industry Council Meeting was held at Studio 4, Conrad Seoul on 19 May 2015.
Fair Player Club is funded as part of the Siemens Integrity Initiative by Siemens AG (www.siemens.com/integrity-initiative) from 2015 for 3 years, as the only project in South Korea. Total 25 anti-corruption projects around the world were selected out of more than 180 project proposals from well-known non-profit organizations from about 60 countries on the 2nd funding round.
Fair Player Club is hosted by Global Compact Network Korea (GCNK), organized by Global Competitiveness Empowerment Forum (GCEF), endorsed by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE), and funded by the Siemens Integrity Initiative.
45 people from government, business associations, private enterprises, and UN attended the Launching Ceremony of Fair Player Club, a public-private sector platform to promote compliance and business ethics.
LEE, Kwan-sup, Vice Minister of Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE) delivered his wish for success of Fair Player Club through his congratulatory speech and KWAK, Jin-young, Vice Chairperson of Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) also delivered her congratulatory speech.
Sabine ZINDERA, the Head of Siemens Integrity Initiative and KIM Jong-kap, Chairman and CEO of Siemens Ltd. Seoul celebrated the launch of Fair Player Club.
After congratulatory speech of Georg KELL, Executive Director of UN Global Compact Headquarters in US, Angela Joo-hyun KANG, Founder and Executive President Global Competitiveness Empowerment Forum (GCEF) introduced about the Fair Player Club.
The most significant part was the signing ceremony of Fair Player Club, with Sabine ZINDERA, the Head of Siemens Integrity Initiative and IM, Hong-jae, Vice President and Secretary-General of Global Compact Network Korea (GCNK).
Also, for industry specific anti-corruption efforts, KO, Chang-nam (Charlie), Acting VP of Korea Railway Association, KIM, Yong-geun, President & CEO of Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, NAM, In-suk, CEO & President of Korea Electronics Association, PARK, Young-tahk, Executive Vice Chairman of Korea Association of Machinery Industry, PAEK, Young-sun, Vice Chairman of International Contractors Association of Korea, and PAEK, Young-sun, Vice Chairman of International Contractors Association of Korea attended to participate in Fair Player Club by representing industry association leadership of automobile, construction, electronics, machinery, and railway sectors.
In the future, by starting with ‘Fair Player Club Seminar for Business Ethics and Compliance of Railway Industry’ which will be held in Korea Railways & Logistic Fair 2015 in June, 2015, co-hosted with Korea Railway Association (KORASS), Fair Player Club will co-host education seminars with industry associations of automobile, construction, electronics, and machinery sectors and implement various activities for strengthening competence of compliance & business ethics and raising awareness for anti-corruption.
