Ms. Angela Joo-Hyun Kang, Founder and Executive President of the Global Competitiveness Empowerment Forum (GCEF), spoke about "Women's Rights and Social Enterprises" in English to female youth leaders at the Girl Up Leadership Summit, a virtual event jointly hosted by Girl Up HSSK and Net Impact Korea on February 22, 2026.
Girl Up is a global youth leadership and gender equity initiative, launched in 2010 by the United Nations Foundation. Now fiscally hosted by Global Fund for Children, it supports girls and young leaders across more than 155 countries through clubs, advocacy, leadership training, and community action. With the slogan “When Girls Rise, We All Rise,” Girl Up empowers young women to lead change in areas such as education, STEM, climate action, civic engagement, and gender justice. It has become one of the most visible global youth movements focused on girls’ empowerment and feminist leadership.
Girl Up HSSK (High Schoolers of South Korea) is the Korean chapter and is composed of students from Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies, Korean Minjok Leadership Academy, CheongShim International Academy, Korea International School, Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages, Anyang Girls' High School, Fayston Preparatory School, and Seoul Presbyterian Prep School.
